The Day of the Dead weekend takes us to nearby Ocotepec, one of Mexico’s most renowned communities for Día de Muertos traditions. Here, we visit the homes of local families whose extraordinary ofrendas transform their houses into deeply moving tributes to loved ones who have passed away. It is a unique and unforgettable experience that allows you to witness Day of the Dead traditions at their most authentic.
The following day, we head to the beautiful Pueblo Mágico of Tepoztlán, where we visit the cemetery and see the graves decorated with vibrant orange marigolds. Back in Cuernavaca, we finish the celebrations by watching the enormous Day of the Dead parade through the city centre, with giant decorative mojigangas, spectacular Catrina costumes and traditional Mexican music.
